KARUNYATHINTE ZNEHAZANDRAM


ZNEHAZANDRAM Award was constituted by ZMART Foundation, in respect of request from Mr. George Oommen, who wished to honor the memory of his daughter Ms. Sandra Mary George. The Award aims to identify and honor those personalities among us who have bravely endured the hurdles put in their path by fate, and have achieved inspirational feats.

The first recipient of the Award was Ms. Elizabeth S. Mathew, who, despite suffering from a rare neurological condition called Tourette Syndrome, fought on through her devotion to the Almighty and her God-given musical skills. The Award was presented on 23rd October 2021by Dr. Beena Philip, Kozhikode Mayor, in the presence of Adv.T Siddique, Member of Legislative Assembly, Wynad


The second ZNEHAZANDRAM Award is awarded to Ms. Ashla P. Rani. Ashla Rani, recipient of the Youth Icon Award from the Kerala Youth Commission, has an inspiring story to tell us all. Even after losing the use of her legs at age 26 due to a train accident, Ashla refused to quit and worked towards an equitable word of compassion. She currently volunteers at Trivandrum Pallium India Institute, where she works with people with serious health related sufferings. She is a vocal advocate for disability rights in India, and has appeared in several national and international forums to share her story.


The Award will be presented to Ms. Ashla on November 11, 2022, at Pallium India, Trivandrum. Dr. Biju Jacob, IA&AS, Principal Accountant General of Kerala, will be the chief guest of the function. The function will also be graced by the presence of Padma Shri Dr. M.R.Rajagopal, Founder of Pallium India.
